Agenda Item: Resistance and Reinstallation of Identity: Empowering Women in the Fight Against Gender-Based Cultural Oppression and Erasure

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation as known as UNESCO is established in order to contribute to the building of a culture of peace, the eradication of poverty, sustainable development, and intercultural dialogue through education, culture, communication, and information. UNESCO engages with governments to establish international standards and legal texts that respond to the biggest challenges of our time. Eliminating discrimination, working towards gender equality, and advancing women’s rights, along with respect for all people irrespective of their age, culture, and position in life are the keys to this agenda item.

Delegates are expected to examine the ways in which gender-based cultural oppression is reinforced through many inadequate practices discussing alternative solutions to minimize the existing oppression in many fields.
